Pahadi haldi, also known as wild turmeric, is a variety of turmeric that grows in the mountainous region of uttrakhand India. It is valued for its distinct aroma, earthy colour, its pleasantly bitter taste with a musky essence and medicinal properties. Pahadi Haldi differ from regular turmeric in terms of its appearance, aroma, and chemical composition. Most importantly it is high in curcumin content which is a very good anti oxidant and anti inflammatory agent. Pahadi haldi possesses several health benefits due to its active compounds, including curcumin, essential oils and antioxidants. It is believed to have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant and anti-aging properties. It may support digestion, bone joint health and skin health among other potential benefits. Pahadi Haldi can be used in various ways, It is commonly grind into a powder and used as a spice in cooking, similar to regular turmeric. It can be added to curries, stews, soups, rice dishes and beverages. We source Pahari Haldi directly from small and marginal farmers from Kumaon & Garhwal hill in small batches, it not only helps us provide you with best quality Haldi but also ensures maximum benefit to the farmer. Haldi cultivation and powder making process require lot of hard work compare to other crops. Haldi sowing & harvesting season varies depending upon the variety, haldi crop becomes ready for harvesting in 7-9 months after planting during January-March. Once haldi crop is harvested, cleaned, cutted, boiled and sun dried, can be used round the year. Women farmers generally grind it and use it in powdered form.
